Court Preparation: The surface to receive any Latexite coating is to be of sound construction and shall meet the standards set forth
by the American Sports Builders Association (http://sportsbuilders.org/), for hot plant mix, reinforced concrete and post-tensioned concrete courts.
New Asphalt Surfaces: The surface shall be thoroughly cleaned: remove all loose dirt, dust, oil, grease and other debris. The court surface shall be
checked with a ten foot straight edge or shall be flooded with water and allowed to dry in full sun, minimum 70° F for one hour to locate low areas which
are more than 1/16" deep (the thickness of a nickel). Any minor depressions that are detected shall be leveled by troweling or screeding a layer of patch
mix over the low area. Suitable leveling materials include Latex-ite Crack and Leveling Compound, Latex-ite Acrylic Resurfacer and Latex-ite Filler Coat
(which has not been diluted with water). Deeper depressions may require multiple applications. Excessively deep (1/2" or deeper) depressions should be
patched with asphaltic concrete. All rough paving joints and roller marks shall be leveled prior to application of the specified Latex-ite system.
Previously Coated Surfaces: The preparation requirements are similar to those stated above for new asphalt. The surface shall be thoroughly cleaned
and leveled where necessary. Existing cracks shall be cleaned and filled with Latex-ite Acrylic Crack and Leveling Compound. Lines which were previously
installed using oil-base traffic paint shall be removed and then leveled.
Concrete Surfaces: The entire surface shall be thoroughly cleaned. Concrete surfaces should have a stiff broom or a float finish (not steel troweled)
for a proper bond. Concrete, new or old, may sometimes require being etched with a 10-15% solution of muriatic acid and thoroughly flushed with clean water.
Allow to dry thoroughly before applying any Latex-ite materials. A wash coat of Latex-ite Acrylic Concrete Primer shall be applied to insure a proper bond.
Due to inherent problems with concrete, this product may not be suitable on all concrete surfaces. Consult a qualified contractor prior to use on concrete.
Color Chart: Latexite standard colors are: Dark green, light green, red, dark tan, light tan, brown, grey, dark blue*, light blue (*to match US Open).
